We have had some many fun and humorous times in the past 6 months! Ezekiel is quite the charmer! He loves to smile and laugh. Lately, he has been playing coy with me whenever I call his name. He gives a smile and looks out of the corner of his eye, but he won't look directly at me! He is cutting his third tooth now. His first two are providing loads of entertainment as he rubs his tongue against them. Our newest adventure, however, is solid foods.
We started with rice cereal, which was clearly not a favorite. Zeke would turn away and refuse to eat it! So, we moved on to bananas. Although he was hesitant the first day, bananas proved to be a winner. On we ventured to sweet potato...OH NO! The first time he ate it, he made funny faces. The second time, he gagged whenever the spoon was put near his lips. On the third try, he just CRIED! Big Crocodile Tears! No way was he going to touch the orange stuff! So, we mixed in a little banana, and PRESTO, he likes sweet potatoes! Strangely enough, he even likes it mixed with rice cereal, just not on its own! Next we tried avocado (not a food that mommy or daddy likes). Mommy put on a happy face, said "yummy" and put it in Zeke's mouth. Zeke gagged! He was having none of it! This time he added the crocodile tears to make sure I got the message right away! Alas, with rice cereal or bananas it tastes just fine, but on its own, it is no good! Apparently, Ezekiel only likes combo meals!
Last week, Ezekiel visited the Easter bunny and got his picture taken, and then we traveled to Modesto for Easter fun! Ezekiel got to color eggs and go on an Easter egg hunt (with a lot of help from mom and dad). He got some fun Easter toys to play with, since he can't really have candy yet, although his love of bananas has me concerned about his sweet tooth already!
Today we went to the Tech Museum with my mom and Brian and Garrett (my brother's 2 boys). We had a great time checking out all of the exhibits. We had our picture taken at several of the exhibits. Zeke made his own web page, cultured some jellyfish bacteria, and even created a virtual self! He had a great time! Next week, the food saga continues. I believe we shall be trying winter squash and yogurt for our next two foods...
